The Read & React Offensive System™

Upcoming Read & React Clinics

History of the Read & React System of Offense

Creation: In 2003 and 2004, Coach Torbett developed the Read & React System with a mixture of players ranging from age 13 (Junior High) to age 25 (professional), with the majority falling in the high school to college range.

Testing: For three years, 2005 - 2007, he field-tested the system by giving it away to coaching friends in colleges, clubs, high schools, and youth leagues from as close as his home town in Atlanta to as far away as Belgium in Europe.

Release: After concluding that the only way to transfer the offense was through visual instruction with real players on the floor, Coach Torbett spent over a year filming and editing the system. The Read & React Offense DVDs were released in August of 2008.

Success: One month after releasing the DVDs, Emmanuel College demonstrated the offense in the first R&R clinic in September of 2008. Adopting the offense, Coach T.J. Rosene's team went on to win the NCCAA National Championship, the first in their school history, with a starting line-up of 6' 2" and under!
