Once you begin to shoot lay-ups against your opponents, they will adjust their zone to try and take it away. You must have a counter-move and the Read & React Pin & Skip Layer teaches a possible Pin Screen wherever the ball is located on the floor. Zones are set up for being screened even more than man-to-man defenses!
If you are familiar with the Read & React Offense, you know that it thrives on moving the ball, moving players, and maintaining the right amount of spacing. Read & React teams are trained from the beginning to take advantage of defensive breakdowns. Don’t be surprised that you score more with incidental points as your team flows from Go-to-Move to Counter-Move!
Almost 30 minutes of the course is dedicated to only the drills that are used to build the skills to make Zone Attack simply a habit of play. These drill categories range for 5vs0, to Shell Defense, Hybrid Games, and Full-Court Trips. These drills apply from youth to pro, and train all aspects of the Attack including the moment- by-moment decisions needed to be made.
